Hey y’all! I’m Riki Leigh,

a country gal from the heart of North Carolina. Growing up in the hayfields and fixing everything from water lines to tractors, I developed a blue-collar spirit that still runs deep.
I left my small hometown to start fresh just an hour away, and that’s where life really kicked off. I have an amazing 11-year-old son who keeps me on my toes. After a rocky relationship, I found love in the most unexpected place—with a man 17 years my senior who can run circles around me. He’s a jack of all trades, from artist to electronic technician, and we turned his pool-building hobby into a thriving business, J&R Pools. Now, he’s got plenty of “company toys” to play with, and I couldn’t be prouder.
My journey has been anything but ordinary. Fired from one manufacturing job only to land a better one, I worked 12-hour night shifts while pursuing my associate degree, which I proudly earned in 2021. When my attempts to climb the corporate ladder hit a wall, I took a leap of faith, accepting an internship that paid $30,000 less than my previous job. But hey, knowledge is power, right?
Despite setbacks and some tearful breakdowns (shoutout to my HR friend for listening), I found my calling. I set up our family business, helped my husband get his pool contractor license, and handled all the accounting. But I wanted more. Now, I’m a Virtual Assistant, part-time family business runner, and hard at work branding myself while learning the ins and outs of marketing.
I’m also a student at Western Carolina University, working toward my Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing with a minor in business. Life’s been a wild ride, and I’m just getting started. So, stick around—this country girl has big dreams and an even bigger heart. Let’s see where this journey takes us!
